FARNESINADIGITAL ART EXPERIENCE
IMMERSIVE ART EXPERIENCE
On Friday 23 October 2020, the first great immersive art experience created collectively by the studios involved in the project was officially presented: a 360-degree audio-visual show that immersed the audience in virtual settings and unprecedented multisensory experiences.
The selected studios, former protagonists of the videomapping show realized in December 2019 on the imposing facade of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, are Antaless Visual Design, Antica Proietteria, Apparati Epimeri, FLxER, Kanaka Studio, Luca Agnani Studio, Michele Pusceddu, Monogrid, Mou Factory, Olo Creative Farm, OOOPStudio, Pixel Shapes, The Fake Factory and WöA Creative Company.
It’s called “Immersive Art Experience”; a new art form based on multimedia languages, designed to immerse the viewer inside the artwork and to make him part of the art experience, by using audio-visual storytelling techniques.
Interdisciplinary by nature, the immersive art experiences are distinguished by using cutting-edge technology as an artistic tool, with the purpose of creating a transformative spatial experience.
During the creation process, digital artists play with space, light, visual dramaturgy, soundtrack and audience, taking care of the balance between all these elements.
They use to design their artworks mixing disciplines such as architecture, light art, cinema, fine art, sculpture, graphic design, sound design, music, literature.
DIGITAL INSTALLATION
During the opening event, on October 23rd, the Italian collectives Kanaka Studio and FLxER, showcased their latest electronic music and generative visual art projects, with an original scenography designed to enhance the impressive and fascinating room Machinenhalle. The two performances have been documented and transformed into permanent installations through multimedia reproductions. Two site-specific installations by the Italian digital art studio THE FAKE FACTORY were also presented: the mix-media sculpture Memory and Desire, created with the support of Salvatore Ferragamo Parfums, and the Immersive Mirror Room, a work-environment that allows the visitor to sensorially immerse themselves in art.
MICROMONUMENTAL VIDEO MAPPING
Through a 3D scale model of the Palazzo della Farnesina, the visitors can relive the video-mapping show hosted in Rome in December 2019: an unprecedented event during which an Italian representative of digital studios met for the first time, transforming with their creativity the facade of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
THE FARNESINA DIGITAL ART EXHIBITION WILL BE HOSTED BY THE KUNSTKRAFTWERK IN LIPSIA UNTIL JUNE 2nd, 2021.
