FARNESINA DIGITAL ART EXPERIENCE

History and architecture merge with digital and visual art.

For one night, a video mapping show redesigned the façade of the Museo Nacional de Arte in Mexico City thanks to the work of leading Italian digital art studios, which projected their works onto the neoclassical façade of the MUNAL, enhancing its architecture and giving the public a unique experience.

The initiative is curated by Stefano Fake and was conceived on the occasion of Mundiacult, the Unesco World Conference on Cultural Policies.

The event, promoted by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute, was an extraordinary showcase on Italy, narrated through a new and engaging language, capable of delivering to the public the image of a country that innovates in art and culture, attentive to the challenges of modernity and able to combine the prestigious heritage of the past with the most innovative forms of contemporary artistic expression.

The show was realised by 13 digital art studios, extraordinary excellences of Italian creativity already selected for the Farnesina Digital Art Experience project:

Antica Proietteria (Reggio Emilia) / Antaless Visual Design (Palermo) / Apparati Effimeri (Bologna) / FLxER (Rome) / Kanaka Studio (Avellino) / Luca Agnani Studio (Macerata) / Michele Pusceddu (Cagliari) / Mou Factory (Cremona) / OLO Creative Farm (Como) / OOOPStudio (Reggio Emilia) / Pixel Shapes (Ragusa) / THE FAKE FACTORY (Florence/Milan) / WOA Creative Company (Milan)

The video projection dealt with topics such as the cities of the future, landscape protection, environmental sustainability, cultural heritage, Mexican muralism and Italian cities of art, promoting Italian digital creativity in Mexico as well, with the aim of providing a complete and increasingly up-to-date picture of Italy’s artistic proposals.

The videomapping show is part of the ‘Be IT’ nation branding campaign, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA).

Organisation and promotion are handled by ImmersiveArtExperience.com and Bright Festival under the artistic direction of Stefano Fake.
